Scott Anez has a great one on one with Magic General Manager Otis Smith. Click here to read it. It’s a great read for Magic fans.

“S…I guess the big question this year will be…How will your team react to being the hunted instead of being the hunter?

O…Our guys are still pretty much the team that no one expects to do very much. So, I don’t necessarily think that has changed very much. But our guys know what they’re up against every day and they know they have to battle every day and I think they’re equally enthused about the task. We have a much different looking ball team than we’ve ever had. We have a lot of experience at some positions that we didn’t have so I think they’re really excited about the season ahead.”

Pro Basketball News has ranked the top 100 players in the NBA.

Dwight Howard checks in at #5, Vince Carter at #28, and Rashard Lewis at #32. I have a lot of gripes with the list but the biggest has to be where PBN ranks Orlando’s All-Star Point Guard Jameer Nelson.

82. Jameer Nelson, Orlando – Last year’s dream season came complete with All-Star berth andNBA Finals appearance, but neither under the ideal circumstances. An ill-timed shoulder injury forced him to miss the festivities in Phoenix and kept him out of action until the Lakers series, where he served as more of a disruption than anything else. Swapping out Hedo Turkoglu for Vince Carter forces him into more of a traditional point guard, which doesn’t necessarily favor his game, but the Magic can count on his positive locker room presence as a stabilizing factor as they try to stay atop the Eastern Conference.

Nelson is among the top 50 players in the league. What’s even more mind boggling is that Shane Battier does not even appear on the list.

Slam has started what should be a much better list and Nelson checked in at #48.

Dancing With Wolves says that DKV is moving their Ricky Rubio deadline to the end of the week.

Rip City Project has a funny article about black and white lineups for the Blazers. I also like that SJ gave me some undeserved credit for inspiring him. Hey, I’ll take what I can get.

We’re Bucked speculates on Milwaukee’ starting five.

Speaking of the Bucks, rumor has it former Magic PG Carlos Arroyo will wind up with them.
