Free Agency Update: Al Harrington, Matt Barnes

Mar. 05, 2010 - East Rutherford, NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES - epa02066866 The Magic

“We’ve been in contact with Miami,” Barnes said. ”No question they’ve added some pieces with the Big Three.”

Barnes said he also has been in contact with the L.A. Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks.

But not so much the Magic, the team he says is still “No. 1 on my list. I definitely want to stay in Orlando. That’s been my family’s stance as well.”

  • During Otis Smith’s media session, he told reporters if Barnes “stopped tweeting, he may get one” when discussing why Barnes didn’t have a Magic offer.
  • Chris Tomasson of NBA Fanhouse, who has been in Orlando all week, reported via twitter the Magic are still in talks about acquiring Al Harrington in a sign and trade.
  • There is still talk about Chris Paul but it still appears as if they are nothing more than rumors.
  • Kyle Korver’s 3-year, $15 million deal with the Bulls should be good news for the Magic. It’s less likely the Bulls throw money at J.J. Redick now.
  • There have also been rumors about the Magic acquiring Al Jefferson. The T-Wolves would love to unload Jefferson but as far as I know, these rumors don’t have much substance.
