Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported last night the New Jersey Nets are on the verge of dealing Troy Murphy to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Brendan Wright and Dan Gadzuric.
Marcus Thompson II of the Oakland Tribune has more on this story.
The Warriors will send center Dan Gadzuric and forward Brandan Wright, a combined $10.6 million in expiring contracts, to the Nets. In exchange, the Warriors will receive the $12 million expiring contract of Troy Murphy and a second-round pick. According to a team source, the deal will be finalized later Wednesday or before Thursday’s noon deadline.
Murphy will be bought out and become a free agent. The Warriors do not want him on the team, just his expiring contract and the pick. The Warriors had been holding onto this option as a last resort while they searched for better deals.

The Magic are still considered at least one of, if not the favorite to land Murphy.
