“Magic Classic” Debut Now Available On OrlandoMagic.Com

Here is the official word from the Magic:


Orlando’s NBA first game in 1989 against Detroit served as the series premiere

 Orlando, FL – In conjunction with Sun Sports, “Magic Classics” made its debut last Wednesday. Now, that classic game is available on OrlandoMagic.com.

The first look-back was from October 13, 1989, when the Orlando Magic made their NBA debut in a preseason game against the then-NBA World Champion Detroit Pistons (See link below)


The broadcast tandem of David Steele and Matt Guokas (also the Magic’s first-ever head coach) take fans down memory lane and relive some of the greatest moments in Orlando Magic history.  They are joined by a variety of guests, including Magic Senior Vice President Pat Williams, Magic President of Basketball Operations/GM Otis Smith and former assistant coach and current Magic Radio Color Analyst Richie Adubato.

Upcoming classic episodes will feature:

-          Magic vs. Chicago Bulls: December 20, 1989 (Smith buzzer-beater tops Jordan’s 52)

PREMIERE: Wednesday, November 2 – 9 p.m. (RE-AIR: Saturday, November 5 – 8 p.m.)

-          Magic vs. Boston Celtics: May 5, 1995 (Magic win First Round; Close Boston Garden)

PREMIERE: Wednesday, November 9 – 6 p.m. (RE-AIR: Thursday, November 10 – 9:30 p.m.)
