12-8 Magic Rumors: Reggie Williams, More Dwight Howard Rumors

by Orlando Magic

Marcus Thompson of the Contra Costa Times reports there is interest between Reggie Williams and the Orlando Magic:

Swingman Reggie Williams, a restricted free agent, will not be at camp when it starts Friday. Williams is expecting to be mulling over offer sheets instead.

A league source said he is expecting at least two offer sheets right off the bat. Several teams have shown interest, including San Antonio, Orlando, Denver, Chicago and Charlotte.

Williams averaged 9.2 points and shot 42.3% from beyond the arc for the Warriors last season. He averaged 15.2 points in 24 games during the 2009-10 season.

Now, this is from Chris Broussard, so take it for what it’s worth:

Nets have emerged as No. 1 choice for Dwight Howard, multiple sources say. D12 is expected to ask Magic to trade him to NJ.

Here is the story:

Dwight Howard is preparing to ask the Orlando Magic to trade him to the New Jersey Nets, according to sources close to the situation.

Howard’s representatives have told the Nets that they are his preferred destination.

Howard has yet to tell the Magic he will not re-sign with them after this season, but the sources said he will within the next few days, perhaps as early as Friday. There is also a chance that Howard will not attend the opening of training camp Friday, according to a source.

If we are going to trade him… this is NOT the best option.
