12-9 Magic Rumors: Tampering, Agents, Big Baby For Bass?

It’s another wild day rumor-wise in Orlando.

David Pingalore of WKMG is reporting Dwight Howard is firing his agent and letting his father handle him.

Jarrod Rudolph refuted the report:

Just spoke w/ inside source: Dwight Howard hasn’t fired agent Dan Fegan and his father has not requested a trade from Orlando Magic.

As did David Baumann:

I was just assured that Dan Fegan will be calling me back shortly. Dwight’s camp indicating WKMG report is false.

There is also a report from David Aldridge of NBA.com saying the Magic may file tampering charges:

The Orlando Magic are contemplating filing tampering charges against two unnamed NBA teams for illegal contact with its franchise center, Dwight Howard, according to a league source.

The Magic believe at least one of the teams have had contact with Howard — who reportedly wants to be traded — as recently as Thursday. If the team substantiates that belief, it will immediately file charges with the league, the source said.

The Boston Herald is reporting the Magic and Celtics are discussing the possibility of a Brandon Bass for Glen Davis swap:

The Celtics have apparently decided that Glen Davis’ future is better elsewhere.

According to a league source, the Cs are in discussions with Orlando to send Big Baby, in a sign-and-trade deal, to Orlando for power forward Brandon Bass – a player Magic management had been very high on at one stage.
