The Magic & Donnie Walsh

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

Per Peter Vecsey of the New York Post, Donnie Walsh is expected to be a candidate for the Orlando Magic General Manager job should they fire current GM Otis Smith:

Look for Walsh to resurface as a reasonable contender for jobs in Orlando or Washington should Otis Smith be fired and/or Ernie Grunfeld not be rehired.

Walsh, 71, is famous for selecting UCLA guard Reggie Miller over the home town favorite, Indiana’s Steve Alford, while running the Pacers. Walsh also helped the New York Knicks clean up their mess and create enough cap space to sign Amar’e Stoudemire.
