Dwight Howard Doesn't Want A Trade?

According to Larry Ridley of WESH Channel 2 in Orlando, Dwight Howard “loves” Orlando and doesn’t want to be traded.

Ridley, citing a source, says Howard is “hit his image has taken since this season’s trade rumors and problems with Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy.” He goes on to say Howard “doesn’t understand why he’s blamed for everything that happens inside the organization.

In December of 2011, Howard publicly acknowledged he had asked for a trade and a few months later, then Head Coach Stan Van Gundy admitted he was told Howard wanted him fired.

Van Gundy was fired on May 21.

At the trade deadline, Howard waived his Early Termination Option, foregoing free agency this summer and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2012.

If Howard is serious about not wanting to be traded and loving Orlando, then the solution is easy: Sign a long term extension.

Consider the source. It’s the same crap he would say to anyone on the street that he doesn’t trust. He has never said he doesn’t like Orlando. Just different for the Orlando Magic.

Sounds like what I have long suspected. Dwight loves Orlando, but hates the franchise right now. Maybe new GM changes that.
