Per Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel, “a host of teams has reached out to the Magic, acquiring about Howard’s availability.”
Schmitz specifically points out three teams – the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors. These are three teams we’ve heard throughout the last drama-filled year. In fact, both Houston and Golden State were reportedly willing to “rent” Howard last season.
Schmitz continues to point out Orlando’s best option could potentially be to trade Howard to the Los Angeles Clippers for Blake Griffin and change. The Clippers could pair the league’s best big man in Howard with the league’s best point guard in Chris Paul. Orlando would able to rebuild around the 23-year old Griffin, who has averaged 21.7 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in his two year career. Griffin was named second team All-NBA this season and was the 2010-11 Rookie of the Year.
