According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, Dwight Howard and Rob Henniganmet Friday to discuss Howard’s future. Howard told Hennigan he wanted to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the meeting, which took place in Los Angeles.
Broussard reported Hennigan “was noncommital when Howard told him he wants to be traded to Brooklyn.”
The Nets are said to be discussing a Joe Johnson deal with the Atlanta Hawks, which would certainly throw a wrench into Howard’s plans.
Broussard also said Howard is investigating whether or not the Magic “blackmailed” him into waiving his Early Termination Option in an attempt to become a free agent this offseason.
Update: Dave Buamann of Brighthouse Sports has confirmed the meeting.
