According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to pursue Magic point guard Jameer Nelson in free agency.
The Lakers’ first priority remains Ramon Sessions, who is also a free agent.
McMenamin says the Lakers “are targeting a handful of veteran point guards including Chauncey Billups, Jameer Nelson and Kirk Hinrich, the source said.”
Our own Brian Serra confirmed this report.
Nelson, who has spent his entire eight year career with the Magic, averaged 11.9 points, 5.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Magic last season.
