Dwight Howard Trade "Not Looking Good"

Our buddy Steve Kyler of Hoops World had a bit of interesting information Saturday morning.

Kyler said a potential trade of Dwight Howard is “not looking good” and the “Magic still stuck with things they do not want being offered.”

Kyler went on to say the Nets “may move on.”

The Magic have had talks with not only the Nets, but the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks and probably several other teams. Kyler says the Rockets will “only go so far on a rental,” the Mavericks and Hawks have been the most aggressive while the Lakers “will not risk poisoning their locker room with an open pursuit of Howard.”

Given that the Nets cannot make the dollars work to sign Howard as a free agent, Dwight will have to look at other teams for a free agent contract. That said, the team that trades for Dwight will have his bird rights and will be able to offer Dwight a comparable mountain of money to sign long term. Eyes wide open, Dwight is the best availible move for any team involved that desires a championship.
