Per Ken Berger of CBS, The Brooklyn Nets are trying to put together a three-team trade that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn.
Berger says “the most likely scenario would involve center Brook Lopez going to Orlando and a signed-and-traded Kris Humphries going to a third team, one of the sources said.”
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo reported the Nets are working on a contract with Lopez, but the purpose isn’t clear yet.
The Magic would love to acquire several first round picks, but a “person briefed on the discussions described the notion of the Nets funneling more than three first-round picks to Orlando as “unrealistic.” The Magic are also interested “cap relief from a team willing to absorb the contracts of Hedo Turkoglu and/or Jason Richardson.”
Andre Iguodala‘s name has been brought up as a player who could wind up with the Magic, but none of those reports are confirmed.
Berger also says Orlando continues to “engage the Nets, Lakers, Rockets, Hawks and Mavericks in trade talks, another option for Orlando remains holding onto Howard and seeing if offers improve after Dec. 15, when players who signed contracts this summer become trade eligible.”
