The Orlando Magic are closer to hiring their next coach head coach.
The perceived front runner, San Antonio Spurs assistant Jacque Vaughn, met with Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins in Las Vegas Friday for a second round interview, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.
Martins was in Las Vegas for a meeting of the NBA’s Board of Governors while Vaughn was San Antonio’s summer league head coach.
Vaughn was excused from Friday’s game to meet with Martins.
Magic general manager Rob Hennigan conducted Orlando’s initial round of interviews and narrowed the field down to three – Vaughn, Philadelphia 76ers associate head coach Michael Curry and Phoenix Suns assistant Lindsey Hunter.
