Dwight Howard & Dallas: “There’s Just Not Much There”

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

According to Mike Fisher of Fox Sports Southwest, Magic general manager Rob Hennigan and Mavericks general manager Don Nelson met to discuss a potential Dwight Howard deal.

Last week, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, reported “Howard’s camp has consistently warned Houston not to trade for him, that he’d march right into Dallas’ cap space next summer.”

Although Fisher reports the two general managers will likely meet again, Nelson says “There’s just not much there.”

Dallas is lacking in draft picks and young prospects, two things the Magic desire in any Howard trade.

The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers still appear to be the leaders in the Howard chase.

Dallas would be the favorite to sign Howard is the Magic let him hit free agency, but that simply isn’t going to happen.
