Earlier today, we learned the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets were discussing a four-team trade that would send Dwight Howard to Los Angeles.
ESPN is now reporting a deal is “very close.”
The story says “Earlier Thursday, Yahoo! Sports, citing sources, reported that talks of a four-team trade involving Howard have taken place this week and have “grown serious” and “the proposed scenario also includes the Magic receiving draft picks and salary-cap relief, the sources told Yahoo!”
Jason Richardson is the most likely to be moved with Howard and Hoops World’s Eric Pincus “has learned there are variations of the rumored deal being discussed that does not include Gasol but have a similar structure with Bynum to Philadelphia, Iguodala to Denver, Howard to Los Angeles and Afflalo to Orlando. It’s unclear if Harrington is in that scenario. Additionally the Lakers are said to have Josh McRoberts and Devin Ebanks (via sign and trade) as outgoing salary for a Howard deal.”
Update: Ric Bucher is now reporting Pau Gasol, who appeared to be heading to Orlando in the original deal, is not in the proposed trade.
