Acquiring James Harden before the beginning of the 2012-13 NBA season changed the culture in Houston, but further changes are still required, and it will all begin to unravel in the offseason.
The Rockets will have a chance to address some needs this season in the draft and free agency.
The most glaring weaknesses are at the 4-spot, and they need a game changing defensive talent, at any given position. This description happens to perfectly fit one free agent, while there are a couple of other options to fortify the frontcourt that Daryl Morey will certainly look at this summer.
The team is also very young with an average starter’s age at just 24. While saddling the roster with pricey veterans may not make the most sense, acquiring a strong rotation vet who can impart some wisdom to the young squad may be on Morey’s wish list.
The Rockets have some moves to make and it’s worth giving some consideration to the acquisitions Morey can make this summer.
