It’s been almost two weeks since Orlando last won a game and the Magic will look to end the drought Tuesday when they take on the Hawks in Atlanta.
All of a sudden, with the injury to Derrick Rose, the Atlanta Hawks find themselves third in the East while not necessarily playing particularly well. Last time out, the Hawks fell to a struggling Boston Celtics team at home in part to a miserable fourth quarter in which they were outscored 30-13.
Atlanta has played a rather weak schedule in building up their 8-6 record, facing only three teams that are currently over .500 — Miami, Dallas, and Denver — and losing all three of them. Although, there are so many struggling teams in the East that almost any team in the conference has played a perceived “soft” schedule. The Hawks are an inconsistent team that’s still trying to build their identity, but talented big men Al Horford and Paul Millsap give them a chance to beat almost anyone below them in the conference.
In their only previous meeting this year, the Magic fell to the Hawks in Atlanta 104-94. In that game, Hawks guard Jeff Teague dished out a season-high 13 assists while adding a team-high 19 points.
