Glen Davis has taken a lot of criticism from Magic fans this season, but at least for one shot he got to play the hero. After a brutal five-game road trip where the Magic lost every in ugly fashion, everyone associated with the team was looking for answers. A tough match-up against the Chicago Bulls didn’t look like the place they would find any. But enter Glen Davis.
As Davis began his shooting motion every Magic fan cringed. He isn’t a great three point shooter, and he had spotted up well behind the line. But sometimes logic is less important than luck. Witha hand in his face, Davis found nothing but the bottom of the net with a mere 4.2 seconds left on the clock. Check out the vine video below.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a Magic game without some heartbreak. Down one, with a second to go in the third overtime, Davis lined up another three, only to be blocked by Chicago’s Jimmy Butler. The Magic wound up losing the game 128-125.
But there were bright spots. Victor Oladipo scored 35 points and dished out 8 assists. Jameer Nelson added 31 points to go with Tobias Harris’ 22 and 16 boards. It wasn’t a win, but it was the kind of hard fought exciting game the team and its fans needed.
