Magic Release Statement On Donald Sterling

Following the conclusion of commissioner Adam Silver’s press conference to announce the life time ban for Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, the Orlando Magic released the following statement.

“The Orlando Magic feel the recent reprehensible comments by Donald Sterling were absolutely unacceptable and do not reflect the values and beliefs of our organization or our league.  We applaud the leadership of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, as well as Head Coach Doc Rivers and his players, who are at the epicenter of the situation.”

The Magic can have an impact on Sterling’s future as owner of the team with the coming vote from the owners to decided if they will force Sterling to sell the team or not. The team is represented by Dan DeVos, the team’s chairman and son of owner Rich DeVos, at ownership meetings.
