Orlando Magic: Possible Trades Looming?

The Orlando Magic have been a very difficult team to get a clear idea of what they will do in the future. They close all media out of camps and workouts, and I have never heard a clear trade rumor once in the Hennigan era. However, these past few weeks have brought up some questions. The Magic have the fourth and 12th pick in this year’s draft and yet they supposedly work out players who are projected to be in the mid first round and some into the second round. Why would they do this? Are they just doing this to be nice and bring in players who they could pick too high with the current picks they have?

It’s no coincidence that there have been Arron Afflalo rumors popping up recently. It would seem as though they are in the hunt for at least one more additional pick in this draft and I see them being very active on draft night. I see them getting multiple trade calls for Afflalo. Most of the teams calling will probably be playoff teams, going back to why the Magic have been working out players from the mid to late first round. In my opinion, a trade will happen, the only obstacle is time and who has the best offer.

Arron Afflalo isn’t the only player to watch out for when it comes to trades. Andrew Nicholson hasn’t been very impressive lately and there are plenty of big men who are younger than him in this draft who could help immediately. Jameer Nelson’s name has been out there but I don’t see anything happening because him staying is more beneficial than him leaving. Tobias Harris has been thrown out there but he is a fan favorite and I don’t see the point of trading him unless you get a high pick or a better wing player in return. Doron Lamb and E’twaun Moore are also strong possibilities and could get a late second round pick.

When it is all said and done, I see the Magic with at least three picks in this draft and possibly up to four. This summer will be a hectic one and the Magic will be getting better no matter what, the only questions is, how much better will they get?

What do you think the Magic will do this summer? Will they make multiple trades or not do any at all? Leave your thought down below and tell us what you think.
