Green, an 11-year veteran, has spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers after nine seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Hornets and Atlanta Hawks. In 679 games, Green has averaged 8.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting 42.8 percent from the field.
With the news that the team waived both Doron Lamb and Jameer Nelson, coupled with the report that they had withdrawn their qualifying offer for E’Twaun Moore, claiming Green makes sense. He brings a veteran presence to the team, and will not be very expensive.
Free agency officially begins at 12:01 AM, but teams will not be able to officially sign players until the moratorium period ends July 9th at 11:59 PM.
