Orlando Magic Today: Tank Top Tuesday

Good morning, Magic fans and loyal readers! Hope your Monday was as good and uneventful as mine was. We’re in the dog days of the offseason, and to be honest, training camp can’t start soon enough.

Starting off today’s Orlando Magic Today, we visit with our good friend Philip over at OrlandoMagicDaily once again as he takes a look at Nikola Vucevic and Tobias Harrisimpending restricted free agency and if the Magic should try to strike a deal with either this summer. Admittedly, this is kind of a big thing for the team. Neither one of them have a real set price tag currently, and the team is bidding against themselves at this point. Is it worth locking up that money long term?

At this point, they should have enough information to know exactly who these players are and what they can bring to the team. Valuing them properly is probably most important as they wager on what the market will bring for these two young, promising players.

What is pretty clear is the Magic are entering negotiations with Harris and Vucevic over an extension throughout the summer. The process is going a bit slowly as the deadline pressure of October is still a little ways away. And restricted free agency takes away a lot of the leverage.

Our good friend Drew Corrigan of TheSixerSense took a look at some numbersthat suggest that Nerlens Noel would be the favorite to win Rookie of the Year. If he were to win, it would give the Sixers back-to-back ROY winners. Guess you have to win something when you’re that bad, right? You can also see where Magic rookies Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton and Devyn Marble rank on the list.

Finally, at FullyClips, Tristy Miller looks at DeAndre Jordan and his leading the league in ally-oops over the past few seasons. A very good read on what makes Jordan and some of the others on the list so deadly and the impact on their teams that these players make.

That will do it for today’s edition of Orlando Magic Today. There’s not a whole lot going on, so enjoy reading some refreshing, fun pieces from other sites as well. Be sure to continue to check with us as we continue to bring you some of the best Magic coverage on the world wide web!
