Hugh Laurie, accepting an award for his supporting role in the "Night Manager," joked it could be the last ever Golden Globes.

Though he didn't confirm the details of the opening, Jimmy did tease to Us Weekly magazine: "The opening is fun, we've been working on it, filming different stuff here and there for it for about three months".

Best Theme Song: The "La La Land" song "City of Stars", which won a Globe, seemed a ideal fit in any award show and most likely will be reprised by the Oscars.

"Black-ish" star Tracee Ellis Rose won her first Golden Globe Award for Best TV Actress in a TV Series. The highlight had to be Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown's rapping in the middle, accompanied by her fellow young co-stars.

Jimmy Fallon's extravagant opening number wrapped only for the host to walk onto the Golden Globes stage without his monologue.

"This is the Golden Globes", he said in his opening line, "one of the few places left where America honors the popular vote". I don't want to name names but Justin Timberlake.

"Welcome to the Golden Globes!". Or were we longing for the glory days of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler or even Ricky Gervais?

"Already you have your Golden Globes moment", he quipped and then started his evening with a political jibe. Ross then dedicated her award to "all of the women, women of color - colorful people" and added, "I see you, we see you".

As the teleprompter issue continued he said, "I'll make up this monologue..." And if Fallon had to do his monologue without a teleprompter, at least he was able to throw in one Game of Thrones, Donald Trump joke.

While introducing the Best Animated Film, these two comedians reflected on the first time they saw an animated movie.
