Not that it will change anything, the National Basketball Association admitted Saturday that the officials for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Celtics and Wizards let extra time run off the clock late in the tight affair.

Several Boston players showed up wearing black for Game 6, but the Celtics weren't able to end the Wizards' season.

He sat out Game 6 of the last round against Houston, a 39-point, series-clinching win on Thursday, after injuring the ankle in a Game 5 overtime victory. The team that wins will not have to pack their bags, they will keep their season alive, and advance to the next round of the playoffs, the conference finals. That stood as the last Game 7 road win in the Finals until the Cavaliers defeated the Warriors last season.

Remember when Celtics' Isaiah Thomas smirked and giggled at the Wizards wearing all black attire during the regular season? John Wall and Bradley Beal were sensational for the Wizards, combining for 59 points and 13 assists.

"I've never been in a Game 7". I'm going to tell those guys, 'it's nothing to overthink, just go out there and play hard.' We've been playing hard.

Curry scored 40 points and hit a tying 3-pointer with 1:48 remaining, and the Warriors rallied from way behind after Kawhi Leonard was lost to an ankle injury to beat the San Antonio Spurs 113-111 on Sunday in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. The only starter on the Wizards that have played in a Game 7 is Marcin Gortat and that was seven years ago. Red, white and blue streamers rained down from overhead as the object of everyone's affection, Wizards point guard John Wall, hopped atop the scorer's table and faced his fans.

Lopsided results dominated the first postseason series between Boston and Washington since 1984 with each game decided by at least 10 points. Al Horford then put Boston up a basket when he banked a baseline midrange jumper with 7 seconds left. On the next two Celtics possessions, Thomas committed two errors, first giving up the ball on a bad pass leading to a Bradley Beal three-point to pull the Wizards within 2.

Next - Game Seven is back in Boston on Monday, May 15. Boston had a chance to knock Washington out of the playoffs, so when Celtics players arrived at the Verizon Center for the game, they were dressed in all black. "It was in my mind throughout the game that I didn't want them to come here, wear all black, and basically call it a funeral and we lose at home".

"We're excited", Thomas said. But when it is how you play tomorrow determines if you play (Wednesday), I can't think of anything more fun, to be honest.

They come in determined to win at TD Garden for the first time since 2014. Looking at the two teams from their previous game, it would seem that Washington needs more contributions from players not named Wall or Beal, though.
