It is a tradition in the United States that professional sports teams visit the White House as the Chicago Cubs did in January when they spent time with President Barack Obama after capturing their 2016 Major League Baseball title. Green said James had started the super team concept.

The Warriors are headed to San Francisco, where they broke ground this year on a new arena slated to open in 2019.

Spontaneous celebrations were breaking out in streets around the city.

Golden State Warriors fans are waking up early to secure a spot along the team's parade route in Oakland, California.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson was throwing T-shirts to fans and waving from the top of an open, double-decker bus.

Curry rode with his wife and kids beside him. NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant rode on a different bus with his mom.

Coach Steve Kerr told KTVU-TV he was proud that the team came back from the heartbreak of losing last year's championship to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kerr said he was proud that the team "came back from the heartbreak of a year ago".

"I remember exactly where I was this time a year ago, and it wasn't a great feeling", Curry told the crowd at a rally after the parade.

"We make each other better and it's not about who gets the credit", Durant said.

Curry expects the issue to eventually be discussed as a group. [They said] he couldn't play in the league, he couldn't start in the National Basketball Association.

James teamed up with All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat to win his first championship in 2012.

Durant is so dedicated to winning multiple championships that he is reportedly considering taking less money from the team in order to free up space to re-sign key reserves like Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala. Superteam? No, we just work extremely well together.

"It's still in the Bay", he said. In five games against the Golden State Warriors in the Finals, LeBron averaged a triple-double by recording 33.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game.
