While Rachel ended things with runner-up Peter Kraus in an emotional goodbye that was shown on The Bachelorette finale, she didn't appreciate the fact that he told her she would be settling for a mediocre life without him.
'Bachelorette' finale recap: Did Rachel choose bling over love? "We have three cities, LA, maybe Dallas, maybe Miami". "Hands down Peter 2018", he previously told E! Peter spends the night in the Fantasy Suite, and they appear the next morning like a sexual version of the song Belle from Beauty and the Beast. But after spending the day together, he still can't promise he's going to propose because that's what happens when you date for two months, guys!
Amid the frustration and confusion with Peter, Rachel is certain she has found her soul mate in Bryan, sealing the engagement with a kiss. In the evening portion of their date - which started well before 9:15 p.m., based on the sunlight - they hash out Peter's far-too-rational viewpoint on proposing.
If this season doesn't hint that "The Bachelor" franchise is doing anything and everything possible to keep their saucy, drama-filled show afloat, it's impossible to figure out what producers will do next.
That led Kraus and Lindsay to break off their relationship prior to the final rose ceremony.
In retrospect, it probably was always going to be Bryan. "He has a really high I.Q. and I just think he would make an interesting season". Maybe that's because he said he still has feelings for Rachel? I will do the same for you.
"Bryan is like my best friend, like I cannot imagine him not in my life", Lindsay added.
Upon seeing her, he told her that she looked spectacular in Spanish just as he had when he first met in the May 22 debut of the show.
And Abasolo agreed. "I think [Alex] would be the most interesting season for sure", he said.
He added, "I want to love you for the rest of my life. Will you be my reina [queen]?" he said.
So who won Rachel Lindsay's heart in the end?
Reunited in real time, Rachel and Peter attempted to establish closure. "I can't say that my time on the show combats that". And then Peter wonders out loud: Should I go home? "It was like he was scripted", she said. So Bryan locks in that last Fantasy Suite, and they head off to get know each other more. "We've gone through so much.the ups, the downs, the challenges.but in the end, what shines above all else is the deep love, loyalty, respect and admiration we have for each other and that's what will continue to carry us through into our future", he wrote as part of a lengthy caption.
'That was a closed chapter for me, ' she explained. "And that was Bryan for me".
However, things started looking less than positive for our favorite gap-toothed contestant when he admitted once again that he still wasn't ready to propose to Rachel but saw a future with her-which, you know, makes complete sense in the non-Bachelorette world when you've only been dating for two months-and a seemingly heartbroken Rachel chose to ride off into the sunset with Bryan.
If she can't have him, no one can!
"I feel like people aren't watching what I was watching", she said. He drops to one knee, she pretends she is shocked, and Rachel gets her fairy tale ending. Peter said he wants a wife and kids and to go to football games and picnics or whatever with Rachel, but he didn't take the step to get there.
