As you already know, Paddock checked into a room situated on the 32nd floor at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. One of Chicago's historic hotels on South Michigan Ave. sits directly across Grant Park where the music festival is held every early August.

The report states Stephen Paddock had booked two rooms at the Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Avenue, one for August 1 - two days before the annual music festival began - and another for August 3, which was opening day. The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said it was unclear whether Paddock was ever in the city or when he conducted the Internet searches.

Paddock's girlfriend, who was out of the country at the time of Sunday's shooting, said she had no idea he was planning an attack.

But law enforcement officials confirmed he never showed up to the hotel.

Paddock checked into his room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel on September 28, three days before carrying out his deadly attack, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said.

At a press conference, Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Aaron Rouse said that they have yet to find a link to terrorism. He killed 58 people and injured almost 500 before taking his own life.

Tuesday night: Danley arrives back in the US from the Philippines.

2pm: Sheriff says Marilou Danley is a person of interest again, after report that Paddock wired $100,000 to an account in the Philippines a week before the attack, while she was in the country.

The gunshots stopped at 10:15pm, two minutes before the initially responding officers made their way to Paddock's floor.

The Las Vegas shooting could change outdoor concert venues forever going forward, as many are considering new measures such as putting up more barriers to protect concertgoers from outside attacks.

The celebrity blog told of Paddock not showing despite asking for rooms that overlooked Grant Park - where 400,000 concert goers including Malia Obama converged this summer. Authorities continue to investigate.

Australia's foreign affairs department said Friday it is aware she is "a person of interest" and described her case as "a matter for USA law enforcement".

What officers have found is that Paddock planned his attack meticulously.

He said he felt it was unlikely Paddock could have pulled off the elaborate plan alone, though investigators have no idea who may have helped him.

"We have a lot of work to do", FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe told reporters on Wednesday.
