Overwatch Gets Yeti Boss Fight

Blizzard just released a new Developer Update video detailing the second coming of the Winter Wonderland event for Overwatch. As happened previous year, the winter holiday event, Overwatch Winter Wonderland will also take place this month, bringing a new PvE mode, new skins, and cosmetics for all Overwatch Heroes. "I was absolutely blown away when I saw the work that they had done and we really hope that you enjoy that".

The Snowball Offensive will take place on the Black Forest and Ecopoint Antarctica maps.

The newest Winter Wonderland seasonal mode is called Mei's Yeti Hunt, and it's Overwatch's first attempt at a 5v1 boss fight.

A new skin for Hanzo, previously seen in Overwatch comics, will be available alongside new Legendary skins for Junkrat and Roadhog.

Several maps will also get a Winter facelift, namely King's Row, Hanamura and Black Forest. The big thing here is that a player will actually control the yeti, which is a powered up version of Winston.

Since the game released in May of past year, Overwatch has continued to grow its playerbase with new characters, cosmetics, and a continued focus on special limited run events, with the next in-game event to begin right around the holidays.

The person playing as Winston has to run around the map picking up meat to build up his ultimate ability, Primal Rage. Meis can flee and regroup with the aid of ice walls and ice traps. If Winston dies, the Meis win; if enough of the Meis die, Winston wins. Like Overwatch's other seasonal events, the second helping of Winter Wonderland will be a healthy mix of new and old.
