CES 2018: TCL Unveils Expanded Home Entertainment Lineup

The Chinese TV manufacturer had a successful year in 2017, releasing several excellent Roku TV models at competitive price points that put the company in the spotlight of a stage that is only getting more and more crowded.

As expected, TCL has unveiled a bunch of new Roku-based products at CES 2018, not the least of which is the new TCL Roku Smart Soundbar that Roku recently teased in its own announcement.

By the end of 2017, TCL had achieved a #4 position in U.S. TV brand share, and Larson said the company's goal was to be one of the top three brands in America by the end of the decade. Roku Connect will enable Roku TVs to easily connect to other AV devices in the Roku ecosystem such as soundbars and speakers enabling consumers to easily add great sound to a TV and audio system around the home. When connected to a TCL Roku TV, voice controls can be used to turn on the TV. It will feature integration with Roku Connect and Roku Entertainment System, allowing your TV to be controlled by voice commands. The popularity of Roku TV is growing by leaps and bounds. Other than this, the 6-series and the 5-series comes with the iPQ Engine for precise colour replication and HDR Pro Gamma to significantly improve HDR performance in any setting.

"As we continue to innovate, we're able to produce televisions engineered with features that maximize technologies which already exist in our sets like Dolby Vision and the Roku OS to deliver outstanding performance at an incredible value".

The features of its products include among them Contrast Control Zones and a novel iPQ Engine.

The brand has switched to a matte metal design, and aside from the 55-inch model, there's also a 65-inch model now. It comes with the support of 4K HDR picture performance and Dolby Vision.

"Further, it is equipped with the Natural Motion 240 technology for smooth action (55", 65" only), Wide Color with NBP Photon technology for exceptional colours, brighter highlights, and increased contrast.

"The P6 will come in 43", 50", 55" and 65" models topping out at $2,699 AUD for the 65" model, releasing in April 2018.

The vanguard of this new line, the TCL Roku Smart Soundbar is a collaboration with the Streaming giant, Roku.
