The highest game total of the week belongs the Titans-Patriots (47 points), with the Pats being huge 13-point favorites. Prior to their win on Sunday, the last playoff win for the Jaguars came back in 2008 against the Steelers on the road, but that won't happen in this one. They also became the first and only team to beat the Steelers twice at home in one season, as they beat the Steelers in the 2007 regular season as well. Pittsburgh is 6-0 this season when Bell has 30 touches or more.
Haden recently took a shot at his former team, who released him prior to the start of the regular season. Roethlisberger especially will be looking to make up for his performance in the week five debacle.
The Jaguars quarterback has always been a punching bag for NFL fans, players and media who consider him on of the worst starters in the league. Burns' ball skills were heralded at Miami, but he has just one interception this season, coming on a frightful pass against the Texans' third-string quarterback. However, Roethlisberger noted that, "Hopefully we have all gotten better as the season has gone on", a sentiment echoed by Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin, who believes that both the Jaguars and the Steelers "have evolved" since the early-October loss. Why would Roethlisberger respond publicly, to the confusion at the end of the Patriots game, with this statement? Nobody feels the flow of the game, or how to attack a defense, better than Ben Roethlisberger.
Haden has played pretty well this season for the Black and Gold, and is a major reason why the Steelers finished fifth in defense against the pass.
Still, there is this interesting contrast: Roethlisberger has a big edge over Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles when it comes to playoff experience.
The Steelers have been to the playoffs four straight seasons.
When the Jaguars have lost this season, Bortles has been more careless with his throws.
If Pittsburgh loses, I mean, Jacksonville crushed them 14 of the last 16 times.
Against the Steelers in week five, Ramsey played a huge role, intercepting Roethlisberger once and getting seven tackles, while Campbell had four tackles and four quarterback hits.
Pittsburgh running back Le'Veon Bell was asked about his contract situation. The Steelers, who enter the game as the favorite, had an bad game when they played the Jaguars in the regular season.
Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell projects to be the highest owned player of the slate, but I love the idea of going to the other side of the ball and playing Fournette.
I know Brady hasn't been an elite fantasy producer over the second half of the season, but this is the playoffs and you have to think that Brady brings his A-game coming off the bye week. Neither team is allowing many points to its opponents, as the Jaguars' defense ranks second in points allowed and the Steelers' defense ranks seventh.
So while many will be expecting a blowout, I think this game will be a competitive one. I want to make him look like Blake Bortles if I can and try to catch a couple picks.
Antonio Brown's calf is good to go.
This has been my problem, for the last several years, with two teams in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks, who this year fell apart and now just had to fire everybody, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have the most explosive offensive stars in the league, now they have another JuJu Smith-Schuster, and in most eyes have underachieved. Roethlisberger won't throw a handful of interceptions again, and Bell will likely carry that offense against a D that is beatable on the ground.
As long as the Steelers can establish the run and put up some touchdowns on offense, they should be able to come away with the win and advance to the AFC Championship.
