Trump Threatens Comey With Jail Time in Unhinged Tirade

Trump went on to call "Slippery James Comey" the "WORST FBI Director in history, by far" and insist that the notes Comey took documenting his conversations with Trump are "FAKE".

Second, he questions Comey's integrity, calling the memos Comey relies on to make his claims about Trump's decision to fire him, "phony".

Comey kept contemporaneous memos of his interactions with the president and told the Senate Intelligence Committee last June that he did so because he thought Trump might lie about them.

Comey's recent behavior has been equally puerile, with the former head of one of the most powerful agencies on Earth lending credence to a patently absurd conspiracy theory involving Trump and prostitutes. Sessions' recusal from the Russian Federation investigation led to Rosenstein appointing Mueller.

Mr Mueller's probe has expanded to include whether Mr Trump obstructed justice by firing Mr Comey, something the President denies.

The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director writes that Mr Trump raised the issue again, unprompted, during their one-on-one dinner at the White House and it bothered the President that there might be even "a 1 per cent chance" his wife might think it was true.

“No, I didnt even think I used the term Steele dossier, ” Comey said. Reuters has obtained a copy.

It seems many around the country are excited to dig into Comey's details about Trump in the book that have emerged over the last week, including revelations that Comey compares Trump to a "mafia boss" and referred to his presidency as a "forest fire". The full interview with Comey will be released on Sunday.

President Donald Trump speaks in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House on Friday, April 13, 2018, in Washington, about the United States' military response to Syria's chemical weapon attack on April 7.

The infamous dossier has salacious details about the alleged encounter, including a story that Trump had watched as the prostitutes urinated on themselves.

While Comey does not outline the details of the information - and says he didn't see indications of Lynch inappropriately influencing the investigation - he says it anxious him that the material could be used to attack the integrity of the probe and the FBI's independence. Mueller's probe has expanded to include whether Trump obstructed justice by firing Comey. "Really weird. It was nearly an out of body experience for me". The interview will air Sunday night on ABC.

Comey was asked if he believed the allegations in the Russian Federation dossier.

In January 2017, USA intelligence chiefs briefed Trump and his advisers on Russia's election meddling.

When Comey explained to Trump that he was not under investigation and that he told Congress that much, Trump responded, "We need to get that fact out", Comey writes.
