James Renacci clinched his nomination with the support of the president.

Similarly, the Koch donor network's flagship group, Americans for Prosperity, has run at least 15,000 ads this cycle, some of which reached voters in IN, though none of that spending has been reported to the FEC.

"If you run a GOTV operation, you run the risk of violating that principle". Mountain Families PAC spent more than $1.3 million, all of it targeted at tanking Blankenship's bid for the Republican nomination.

Trump, who scored a decisive victory in OH over Hillary Clinton in 2016 after Obama carried the state twice, sent a congratulatory Tweet for DeWine, a former US senator. "Your interference in the West Virginia election displayed a lack of understanding of the likely outcome of the upcoming general election", he continued. Joe Manchin III, the lone Democrat remaining in the congressional delegation, is in what might be one of the toughest races of his career this year as he runs for a second full term in a state President Donald Trump won by more than 40 points in 2016. And I am proud to stand before you and celebrate the hardworking people who are the absolute backbone of America. It has caused painful memories of Roy Moore, the Alabama Republican who lost a long-held Republican seat previous year after The Washington Post reported that he made unwanted sexual advances to teenage girls when he was in his 30s.

Problem is, Don Blankenship, now running for Senate, can't win the General Election in your State. No way! "He's the only one", he said in a shot at Morrisey's roots.

But Blankenship won't be going away quietly, Thomas said. And Morrisey is the better man anyway. "That's all I have ever said", he said.

Mitchell Eggleston of Charleston said he voted for Jenkins - as a means of stopping Blankenship.

In the week leading up to the vote, there was national media attention to Blankenship, amid claims that his campaign was "surging", although attendance at his campaign events was invariably poor. There is no doubt that he was responsible for that mine accident.

"I think that our folks realize, how serious we are about beating liberal Joe Manchin in November".

Blankenship aggressively attacked McConnell in his campaign. The company, however, didn't appear to be involved in the cocaine smuggling. Blankenship also labeled McConnell's father-in-law a "wealthy China person" during a radio interview.

His ads have included references to McConnell's wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, as a 'Chinaperson'. She immigrated to the United States from Taiwan as a child.

He also faced an onslaught from mainstream Republicans.

Trump weighed in on the race Monday urging people not to vote for Blankenship.

Chief among his targets: Indiana's Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly will face off in November against Braun, a multimillionaire owner of a national auto parts distribution business who loaned more than $5.4 million of his own money to his campaign. This district is historically slightly Republican with a Cook Political Voting Index score of Republican +4.

In the OH governor's race, Cordray will face state Attorney General Mike DeWine, who defeated Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor for the Republican nomination.

Republicans fought a nasty primary for the right to take him on. Vice President Mike Pence's brother Greg is hoping to get the Republican nod for an open congressional seat.
