Assassin's Creed Odyssey has a Playable Female Protagonist

We get a whole new trailer featuring both new and already revealed characters. What I like about the Assassin's Creed franchise is when it gets dynamic, and it's no coincidence that the standout installment in recent years was the Revolutionary War-set Assassin's Creed III. So it wasn't just dancing.

The above world premiere trailer, embedded above, leads on to the gameplay walkthrough video, if you are interested.

After various leaks had essentially spelled out a portion of the game, Ubisoft finally took to the stage of their E3 2018 briefing and revealed that Assassin's Creed Odyssey is indeed a real thing.

Splinter Cell could certainly fit into a 2018 release date slot, so fingers crossed we'll see more at E3 2018. You'll be able to play the whole game as Alexios or Kassandra, the grandchild of the mighty Leonidas.

Playing a female character in an Assassin's Creed game isn't new; previous titles, like Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and Origins, incorporated female characters into parts of their overall storyline.

A beta is still planned sometime before release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. But what you probably don't know is that Ubisoft has taken a leaf out of BioWare's book in terms of romance and friendship, why?

Expect more on Assassin's Creed Odyssey at Ubisoft's press event later this evening, where we'll hoepfully get out first gameplay footage. Odyssey looks a lot like last year's excellent Hellenistic Egypt-based Origins insofar as visuals and overall mechanics-combat, UI, skill trees, inventory menus and environments all look close to Origins.

While there was an bad lot of CGI and scripted cinematics on display, Ubisoft struck a fairly decent balance between showcasing actual gameplay as well as glitz.

Like the past several games in the series, you'll control boats and horses on your journey of assassination and discovery.
