Lebron James Noncommittal About Return To Cleveland

In some ways the Cavaliers never recovered after almost upsetting Golden State on the road in Game 1 of the series.

"This is so hard to do and to do it three years out of four years is incredible", Warriors guard Klay Thompson said.

The Cavaliers suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat in the 2018 NBA Finals to the Warriors after Kevin Durant and Co. comfortably won Game 4 last night.

Some have said Durant's decision to join Golden State ruined the National Basketball Association.

Durant said he chose to sign with the Warriors because the team "has an unselfish environment".

"I mean, we all know that", Lue said of James. This year seems so different, though. James, 33, is the oldest finals leader in points and minutes, having struck for 51 points in the opener, the fifth-best game total in finals history.

This year, there's been a toughness to go along with the finesse.

"When you feel like you are really good at your craft, it's always great to be around other great minds and other great ballplayers", James said.

"I have no idea at this point", James said.

In the end, what stood out was the burning desire to win shared by Kerr, Durant and Curry. Warriors retail managers tried to pre-order as much championship merchandise as they could. "Unbelievable feeling to come in here on a mission and get the job done". But it was the harsh ending they got, nonetheless. They finished second to the Rockets in the regular season, then had to overcome a 3-2 deficit in the Western Conference finals and win a Game 7 on the Rockets' court just to reach the NBA Finals.

The Warriors dominated the series.

While Game 4 marked the final contest of LeBron James' 2017-18 season, it might also have been the last time he donned a Cavaliers uniform. Durant posted a game-high plus-30 in the series-clinching Game 4 win and was plus-86 for the Finals overall.

The 14-time All-Star still went on to have a terrific individual series and there was a strong case that he should've named as the Finals MVP. "Getting up every day, going to work with these guys, it's incredible". Yet the cumulative effect on multiple journeys adds up, and we have felt that this year. I don't think anybody's even anxious about that type of stuff. But if things get rocky next season, the Warriors will also have the experiences from this year to draw upon. Markelle Fultz who had half a redshirt year and has been fine tuning his dunking prowess (instead perhaps of his broken jump shot) could prove to be an addition of sorts, and the salary room to ink a max contract makes them one of the favorites in the East.
