Sony unveils translucent PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition to celebrate sales

To put a finer point on it, Sony has sold 525.3 million PlayStation consoles around the world, which is no small task. The admittedly cool-looking translucent dark blue version of the PlayStation 4 Pro, the 500 Million Limited Edition, comes with matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, PlayStation Camera, Vertical Stand and mono headset.

There is no word on if these "extra special" units will include anything more than the standard pack-ins of the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro. Limited to just 50,000 units worldwide the console will celebrate that fact that half a billion PlayStation consoles have been sold across the globe. Theyll go for $500/€500 starting August 24.

The case will feature a transluscent dark blue shell and come with a DualShock 4 wireless controller with a matching scheme.

The 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will also be available as a standalone purchase for $64.99 United States dollars / $74.99 CAD / €64.99 / 6,480 yen.

The limited edition 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset retails separately at $99.99 and can be purchased in select retailers across the United States and Canada in early September 2018. Mainly because I already have a PS4 Pro and I've already dropped the cash for the Spiderman special edition PS4 Pro.

Those that enjoy the little details will be happy to know that there will be a copper plate affixed to the front, each stamped with a unique number. You will be able to pre-order it from 14 August from Amazon and other retailers.
