Along with his son, George H.W. Bush will be eulogized by former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, whose time in power overlapped with Bush, former US Sen. An invitation-only funeral service is set for Wednesday at Washington National Cathedral, to be attended by President Donald Trump and other dignitaries.

Bush, 94, died Friday night.

The 41st U.S. president's body is scheduled to lie in state there from Monday to Wednesday.

Sully has his own Instagram account; here he is shown "assisting with voting" as Mr Bush cast his ballot in last month's United States presidential mid-term election.

His son and 43rd USA president George W Bush posted an Instagram photo of Sully lying in front of his old master's casket on Sunday.

The body of former President George H.W. Bush will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol on Monday as his family and Americans mourn the loss of the 41st U.S. president. This website is not intended for users located within the European Economic Area.

The 41st President will be carried to his final rest wearing socks that pay tribute to his lifetime of service, starting as an 18 year-old naval aviator in war.

The locomotive has been painted the colors of the Air Force One plane used during Bush's presidency and bears the number "4141" in honor of the 41st president.

Former President George H.W. Bush is remembered before the Pittsburgh Steelers play the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA, Dec 2, 2018. At the funeral for his wife, Barbara Bush, who passed eight months ago, Bush paid homage to his wife's favorite cause, literacy, by wearing socks decorated with stacks of colorful books.

Bush's passing puts him back in the Washington spotlight after more than two decades living the relatively low-key life of a former president.

The entire campus, except for dining services, will be closed for the day.

After, he will lie in repose at Houston's St. Martin's Episcopal Church before his remains are transferred via rail to the Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University, where he ultimately will be buried. His death also reduces membership in the exclusive ex-presidents' club to four: Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. But he offered nothing but praise in the hours after the former president's death was announced.

George W. Bush posted on Instagram that Sully will be reassigned.

He was denied a second term by Arkansas Gov. Clinton, who would later become a close friend.
