Manchester United look like a completely different side under Solskjaer and are playing the free flow football that they did under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United are reportedly planning to consult Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when deciding on the future of a number of top players.

The 45-year-old Norwegian was named as interim boss after the club sacked Jose Mourinho in December.

This was hardly a convincing win by United - Reading wasted a slew of chances at Old Trafford - and Solskjaer put down the underwhelming performance to selecting a makeshift line-up, albeit one filled with worldwide players.

"It was always going be hard with my team selection", Solskjaer said, after making nine changes to his team.

"I was in my first year at the club, and they flew the youth team and reserve team over, and brought us to the game", O'Shea remembers.

"It has to start with the way we play because results you can not control", he said.

"He helps us a lot", Lukaku said of Solskjaer.

A fifth victory from his first five games in charge will do no harm to Solskjaer's chances of getting the job permanently, even if this was not a particularly strong performance from his much-changed side.

Solskjaer can surpass Busby's mark with a win at Tottenham in the Premier League next weekend, and more and more players are putting their hands up for selection, especially in attack. "That's important for them because they need more game time".

The Frenchman was on the end of a heavy challenge from Jonjo Shelvey during the 2-0 win at St James' Park on Wednesday and was unable to train before the FA Cup clash with the Championship side.

Sanchez - who was making his first start under Solskjaer - made his way towards the bench and not down the tunnel after he was withdrawn, before accidentally taking his new manager's seat.

"He's been out a month now, he's had 20 minutes against Newcastle, half an hour maybe".

Burnley were awarded a penalty for a foul on Matej Vydra but just as he was running up to take the spot kick the referee Simon Hooper indicated that the decision to award the spot kick had been reversed because of an offside decision.

United's next match is their toughest to date, but before heading to Tottenham next Sunday comes a warm-weather camp in Dubai.
