5 children charged with killing Nashville singer

Police told Tennessean that the five juveniles were arrested at the West Nashville Walmart, and that a gun and a stolen auto were recovered.

Yorlets was part of the band Carverton.

They're accused of shooting 24-year-old Kyle Yorlets outside his home in north Nashville Thursday afternoon.

The juveniles interacted with Yorlets, took his wallet, and ultimately demanded that he surrender the keys to his vehicle, according to the release.

Authorities say it appears the juveniles were hanging out in the alley behind Yorlets' home when they spotted him and attempted to rob him.

Police found the stolen truck Thursday evening and later apprehended all five suspects at a Walmart in West Nashville, as well as a loaded 9 mm pistol, which had been reported stolen.

Police recovered two stolen pistols upon arresting the teens. Five juveniles were charged in the case.

In a statement, his band mates wrote that they "are in a state of shock" and "heartbroken".

Police say the suspects took the rock band singer's wallet, and when he refused to give up the keys to his vehicle, someone in the group fired. A native of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Belmont University in May 2107.

Police have charged five teenagers with the shooting death of Kyle Yorlets, a rising musician in Nashville.

The mortally wounded victim managed to make it inside his home, where he was found by one of his roommates at 3pm.

On Friday, Yorlets' bandmates released a statement addressing his death.

The band was growing its local presence and was looking forward to the album's release, he said.

"On Feb. 7, 2019, we lost our brother, best friend and bandmate Kyle Yorlets". It is an autobiographical song by Yorlets, Ferguson said, who started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Yorlets's family.

Another loaded and stolen gun that the juveniles allegedly hid in one of the aisles inside the department store was found.
