Zidane: Madrid could sell a lot of players to make money

The Liverpool winger put pen to paper on a new long-term contract earlier this year, but rumours have persisted that he is being watched closely by Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema rescued a point for Real Madrid in a 1-1 draw with Leganes in La Liga on Monday. Madrid has won three and lost one since its former player has been in charge.

Madrid were dumped out of the Champions League at the Round of 16 stage by Ajax and are now third in La Liga.

Los Blancos believe Vinicius will soon become one of the best players in world football, Inda claims. "Even if this might have been a bad season, we must all give a bit more".

Instead, they sit four points behind Atletico Madrid and finishing second, and above their city rivals, appears unlikely.

Since his departure from the Bernabeu, Real Madrid chiefs have been looking for a good replacement for the ex Manchester United star.

Benzema: "Benzema can play with everyone because the good players are like that".

Madrid and Bale's agent are expected to meet soon as they look to find a possible solution concerning his future, while Los Blancos have set a 100 million euro price tag on his head.

"The changes will be made known at the end of the season", Zidane said.

Zidane strode down the tunnel at half-time and his team emerged with greater goal afterwards, with Benzema finding an equaliser six minutes in. Luka Modric provided a rare moment of magic, turning sharply in the box before picking out Benzema and after the striker's initial shot had been saved, he turned home the rebound.

Leganes, 11th in the table, went close to winning the game but Youssef En-Nesyri had a goal correctly disallowed for offside. Neither side really deserved a victor.
