IAF copters requisitioned for rescue operations in flood-affected Rayagada


Mi-17 V5 helicopters of IAF had been asked for the relief and rescue operations. In fact, reports of floodwater entering four other residential schools for tribals in Kalyansinghpur block were received by Rayagada district administration. As it is not possible to rescue them through boat by the Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and fire services, the assistance of IAF is required for the rescue and airdrop of relief material in the affected areas of Rayagada.
