The Orlando Magic just don’t have much talent other teams in the NBA want. And what little they do have comes in the form of youngsters that aren’t going anywhere. Tobias Harris, Nikola Vucevic—and to a lesser extent Mo Harkless—are all pretty much untouchable at this point.

The Magic’s three best young players are all on rookie contracts, which will eventually help the Magic have a lot of cap room.

That cap room could come a lot quicker with the trading of some veterans. Those vets come in the form of Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, Al Harrington and Glen Davis.

Pistons beat the Magic 105-90. Mandatory Credit: Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

There’s been enough controversy in the sports world regarding the use of PEDs, but there hasn’t been as much of a stir regarding their usage in the NBA.

The Orlando Magic’s struggling and declining swingman Hedo Turkoglu tested positive for using steroids, and it’s unclear as to what benefit he was gaining from them. Turk has posted career lows in all categories, while falling out of the rotation on an Orlando team that is close to the NBA’s cellar.

It’s not just that Hedo’s declined, but also that he has no place on a rebuilding team whose chances of contention are still many seasons off. He’s also on a hefty contract, which makes trading him a near impossibility, despite apparent interest from the Brooklyn Nets.

He earned a 20-game suspension for it.

The Magic will not miss his services during the suspension, nor after it. He’s just dead weight on the roster, and now he’s not even that. Turk is out of shape, so perhaps he was seeking to improve his poor conditioning, but most athletes just use cardio work to do that. Congrats, Hedo, you may have never made an All-Star team in your career, but you do go down as only the second Orlando Magic player to get caught using steroids. Rashard Lewis was the first, testing positive in 2009.

Just the second? That’s a milestone, right?

No word on whether or not this will keep Hedo out of the Hall of Fame.

Jokes aside, remember when Hedo could play like this?
